Knights of Labor-Metal Workers Trade Card.

The Knights of Labor was a national labor organization that reached its heights in the post-Civil War period.  It organized workers in every industry and craft, irrespective of race, creed or sex.  Thsi card, from the Meriden, Connecticut Knights of Labor, was issued with "the compliments of the Metal Workers Assembly, K. of L."  The reverse side announces a "grand concert and ball" at the Meriden Skating Rink, with proceeds to be used for "furnishing the new Knights of Labor Hall."
